On Vegitarianism
Why am I a vegetarian? Well, there are several reasons, one of which should become evident upon reading this quote from ‘Boxing with Shadows’ by Brian Johnston:
‘Mrs Chen brought in a dish of eels. Although they had been slit along their length, they were still wriggling convulsively on the plate. Mrs Chen lifted up a tangle of them and dropped them into the hot oil and stock, where they thrashed about before being boiled to death. I stared in horror. …while I was eating them I could see their little fellow victims out of the corner of my eye, writhing about in their dish with their stomachs cut open.’
On Sugar
Sugar is insidious, it has infiltrated so much of our food. And when it is in our bodies the sugars, along with their cohorts, the refined grains, devise nefarious plots to conquer the food world by defeating their nemeses: fruit and veggies, and whole-grains. And they are winning. It is a passive take-over on a mammoth scale.
